Pedro Pascal Lookalike Contest: ‘Daily Show’ Staffer Claims Victory

George Gountas, a lighting technician at “The Daily Show,” has been declared the winner of the Pedro Pascal lookalike contest at Son Del North in New York City.

During the contest, Gountas, who is known as “Pedro No. 5,” impressed the judges with his striking resemblance to the actor. This victory comes in light of Pedro Pascal’s talk show appearances where he has mentioned the lack of good Mexican food in New York City.

The contest, held at a Mexican restaurant in the Lower East Side, awarded Gountas with $50 and a year’s supply of burritos from Son Del North Mexican. Annisha Garcia, the restaurant’s chef and co-owner, shared that the idea for the contest stemmed from Pascal’s comments about the city’s Mexican cuisine.

As a lighting designer on “The Daily Show,” George Gountas’ win in the Pedro Pascal lookalike contest serves as a unique blend of identity and celebrity influence, shedding light on the power of image in today’s culture.
