Mona Luna: The All-Terrain Lunar Rover
On October 15, 2024, Venturi Space, in collaboration with Venturi Astrolab, Inc., announced the unveiling of their latest project, the Mona Luna lunar rover. This all-European design is set to revolutionize lunar exploration with its advanced capabilities and innovative features.
Venturi Space, known for its collaboration with Astrolab on lunar rover concepts, has revealed Mona Luna, intended for the European Space Agency (ESA) and commercial entities. This state-of-the-art, all-terrain vehicle is designed to overcome the limitations of current lunar exploration technology.
Designed to operate at the Moon’s South Pole by 2030, Mona Luna features solar panels, autonomous navigation capabilities, and is built to survive multiple lunar nights. The ultimate goal is to provide Europe with a lunar-capable rover by the end of the decade.
Venturi Space Launches Lunar Rover Mona Luna at Paris Air Show
Venturi Space took center stage at the 2025 Paris Air Show with the unveiling of Mona Luna, their ambitious lunar rover. Specifically designed for the European Space Agency (ESA) and France’s Centre National d’Études Spatiales (CNES), this innovative rover aims to enhance lunar missions and propel Europe towards new frontiers in space exploration.
The collaboration between Venturi Space and Astrolab responds to the growing interest from institutional, business, and scientific organizations in delivering small payloads to the Moon. The new rover, FLIP (FLEX Lunar Innovation Platform), builds on the technology developed for Astrolab’s FLEX rover, combining cutting-edge design with Venturi Space’s proprietary materials and technology.
With the introduction of FLIP at the 75th International Astronautical Congress in Milan, Venturi Space continues to push the boundaries of space exploration and pave the way for a new era of lunar exploration.
