Israel Strikes Iran’s Top Military Commander in Latest Attack
Israel’s military on Saturday released video footage of a missile strike on a car in western Iran, targeting and killing Mr. Shahriyari, one of Iran’s top military figures. The recent attacks by Israel have resulted in the deaths of key military and nuclear personnel in Iran.
During the strike, Israel also eliminated Benham Shariyari, a second commander of the Guards’ overseas arm, further escalating tensions between the two nations. The conflict intensified when a drone strike took out another Quds Force commander, Behnam Shahriyari, as he was traveling through western Iran.
The ongoing retaliatory actions have led to casualties in both countries, with Israel confirming the death of a second senior Guards commander, Benham Shariyari, during a strike in western Tehran. In response, Iran’s new head of emergency command was targeted and killed by the Israeli Air Force, just days after his predecessor suffered a similar fate.
The Israel Defense Forces claimed responsibility for the attacks, stating that Maj.-Gen. Ali Shademani, Iran’s wartime Chief of Staff and a close confidant of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, was the latest high-ranking military official to be eliminated in their targeted airstrikes. This comes shortly after their successful elimination of Shademani’s predecessor.
“For the second time in 5 days— the IDF has eliminated Iran’s War-Time Chief of Staff, the regime’s top military commander,” the IDF announced proudly, emphasizing the significance of their recent actions.
Israel continues to engage in military operations targeting key figures within Iran, with the recent strike killing Major General Ali Shadmani, described as the country’s most senior military commander and a crucial figure in Iran’s military hierarchy.
