The study found that a certain drink, enjoyed by nearly two-thirds of Americans daily, is linked to the most aggressive stage of colon cancer. In fact, this year alone, the American Cancer Society predicts that over 100,000 individuals in the U.S. will receive a diagnosis of this specific type of cancer.

On a more positive note, a new study suggests that incorporating yogurt into your breakfast routine may help to heal the gut microbiome and reduce the risk of colon cancer. This news is especially important as the rates of colon cancer have been rising among young Americans.

The Impact of Diet on Colon Health

What you eat can have a significant impact on your risk of developing cancer, particularly colorectal cancer. Consuming a diet high in red meat, processed foods, and sugary treats has been shown to increase the likelihood of developing this type of cancer. Researchers are working to better understand how these dietary choices affect the body and contribute to cancer risk.

One recent study focusing on highly processed foods revealed that individuals who consumed more than nine servings of these foods daily had a 29% higher risk of colorectal cancer compared to those who had only three servings.
